Who are Joy and Anxiety?
In the sequel to Inside Out (2015), the mind of teenager Riley Andersen discovers new emotions. In addition to the well-known Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust, which previously dominated the girl’s control center in her consciousness, come the feared Anxiety along with Envy, Ennui, Embarrassment, and Nostalgia. As she prepares for high school, Riley’s original emotions work together, placing her memories in a new space to help build her character, resulting in the creation of threads that express the inner self. The emotions are shocked to meet Anxiety, a new emotion that constantly worries about the worst-case scenario in Riley’s future, as well as Envy, who is constantly jealous and amused by others' traits, Embarrassment, who rarely speaks to the others, Ennui, who relaxes on its couch and changes the control panel with its phone, and Nostalgia, who constantly reflects on the past. Produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios, Inside Out 2 was well-received by critics, ranking among the top 10 highest-grossing films of all time, and is the second most successful animated film, behind The Lion King.

Carrying her bags in a bundle of nervousness, tension, stress, and similar things, her main job is to protect Riley from things she cannot see and to plan for the future, predicting everything that could go wrong. On a diorama base that replicates the control center inside the mind of Riley, now a teenager, filled with references such as the colorful glass spheres known as Memory Orbs, where her memories are housed, presented at the front; and the Personality Islands, created when a Core Memory is formed, reflected in windows on a panel in the background.
