Magneto is the mutant Erik Magnus Lehnsherr, with the ability of controlling and manipulating the magnetic fields and any kind of metal. Born from a Jewish family, he was persecuted and made prisoner in Auschwits during World War II. Escaping in 1944, he started his life over in Russia using the name Magnus, married to Magda and father of a girl called Anya. While facing a blackmailer, his house was burnt down, and he watched Anya die. he then publicly used his powers for the first time and killed everyone there. He met Professor Charles Xavier, with whom he became friends, but their divergent ideologies led them to opposite sides. Magneto sees the mutants as the next state in evolution and thus, as superior to humans. He started acting as a terrorist, in favor of mutants against humanity, and to implement his supremacy he created the Brotherhood of Mutants, and became enemy of the X-Men, students of Xavier in the fight for peaceful coexistence between mutants and humans.
